Our favorite place to take walks is along the Logan golf course river trail. Stephen chose this spot to propose to me. It was perfect in every way. He picked me up for dinner and instead of driving somewhere to eat he drove to the river trail, suggesting that we take a walk before dinner. I had my suspicions that he may propose soon which made it even more exciting. I remember him walking a lot faster than usual as well, probably because of nerves. When we came to the second bridge there were three roses waiting for me. Stephen then pulled out a poem he written during class earlier that day and read it to me. It was so incredibly sweet and sincere. He then got down on one knee and asked if I would marry him. Of course I said YES!! We were so excited that we couldn't even finish our walk. We went to Gia's Italian restaurant for dinner. It is one of my all time favorites in Logan. We then called our families to tell them the good news.
Proposal
On this trail that we’ve so often walked
To the bridge we’ve so many times crossed
I’d like to say a few words and take just a moment
And present to you these three roses
The first rose represents our relationship til now
It indeed flew by too fast, I don’t know how
It’s been the best time of my life, however cheesy that may sound
The orange shows our friendship upon which we are found
This next rose represents the future to which we look forward
Notice the two thorns, trials there will be but together they will be conquered
I’m excited to share my life with you, everything I will be, everything I am
The red shows the depth and richness of my love that I give you, as much as I can
The last rose I give you signifies the eternity of our family
My testimony of this is strong and true and I love willingly
The long stem is my love that will last longer than this life
It would be my greatest wish, to endure to the end with you as my wife
The cord that binds these roses is our unity, hand in hand
It is simple yet strong, intertwined together without end
You’re my better half, you complete me, you make my happily ever after
