This was our last road trip to Vegas for a while. Thankfully because the drive was starting to get really old. This time we went to Vegas was for sweet Kaylee's baby blessing. Stephen and I drove separate from his dad and Natalie. We went a couple days before them. On our first night there we let Marilee and Colby go out on a date while we babysat. This was Kaylee's first time being apart from her mom and dad. Wow it was a rough night. She started out fine taking her bottle from Stephen while I read a book with Clay. Then the crying started...She cried and then screamed and then combined screaming and crying the rest of the night. She finally quieted down when I think she had exhausted herself out too much to cry any longer. It was the saddest thing. Stephen took her to her room and rocked and sang to her the entire time. It was the sweetest thing. Clay and I just hung out together reading books and then telling stories while tucking him into bed.
The next day we went to feed the ducks at the park. Eventually the ducks started getting really greedy so Stephen had to put Clay on his shoulders so the ducks couldn't get to mad at him for not continually feeding them. It was still a lot of fun. Once Natalie and her dad made it the four of us went out to experience a true Vegas buffet for dinner. Stephen's dad was not impressed but we still look back on it and just laugh. Especially about how many desserts we ate. I can safely say that the idea of Vegas buffets being a good dinner option is over with. After dinner the four of us headed to Natalie and her dads hotel and played card games for a couple hours. We had a great time!
The next day was Kaylee's blessing day. She looked so pretty in her little white dress. It was a little sad because Stephen's mom and Natalie couldn't make it because they were at a funeral in Oregon. They were still able to listen to the blessing which was nice. Colby did a great job and it was really nice being able to be there for the blessing. Afterwards Colby's family and Stephen's all went to a little lunch at the park. It was right before we got to the park that Stephen found out he had got accepted to Ross University and that we would be moving to Dominica that next August. It was a really exciting day and we talked about what would soon become our new adventure the whole drive home.
