Ride for the Fallen

The annual ride for the fallen motorcycle event was really special to be a part of. It started in North Logan, headed North into Idaho, East to Bear Lake, and back toward Logan through the canyon. The ride is held in honor of Lance Cpl. Michael J. Allread, who died Sept. 6, 2004, in Iraq. I went to High School with his brother so it was even more special to ride in his honor. There are hundreds who come to participate in the ride each year, there to recognize those who have died while in service to their country. There was a continental breakfast served to start with and then a tribute to the fallen, flag ceremony, and gun salute. The ride was on a perfect August morning and we left at 10:00am to start the 130-mile Logan-Preston-Mink Creek-Bear Lake-Logan loop. Thankfully we had a rest stop in Bear Lake because I was getting pretty sore on such a long ride. This ride was the longest one I have ever been on. It was a very beautiful ride and one that we won't ever forget doing.
